Many many years ago I used to participate in clan/reg events and at one point even became leader of my own clan in a different mod. I had my fun, but overall found the experience to be very unrewarding.
As leader I had to deal with drama like what you see in this thread on the daily. I just wanted to play the bloody game and have fun, not deal with people whose egos were hurt and who wanted me to side with one of them. I was never power-hungry either so I didn't derive any pleasure from subjugating people or telling them what to do although I do admit having power is better than not having it.
But it comes with great responsibilities too. In a game like Warband there are unfortunately too many people that are lonely, bored, and have shit lives and want to take out their anger online. Of course people like that can be found in all games, but from personal experience Mount&Blade has more retards to deal with and doesn't really reward cooperation as much.
In Warband/NW the juice just isn't worth the squeeze. Not unless you have no life outside of it. Been there, done that.
I am not proud of it, but I too used to manipulate people and use them for my own purposes in Warband. Sometimes it was as simple as joining a ts server with them, saying hi or yo, playing with them for 15-20 mins and we were best friends. That's how lonely some people are and it's sad honestly.
Few of these friendships were rewarding and after a couple of years I decided the juice isn't worth the squeeze. I changed my identity and played on my own without joining any clans. Seriously, it is so much better this way at least for me. Drama can burn you out like no one's business.
I'm yapping away and still haven't got to the point. Sorry about that.

Go ahead and ban me already. Make your friend happy. Makes little difference to me. The keys are dirt cheap. I will just change my identity and no one will be any wiser. I will not participate in this mug's game with Marth.
Best Regards and have a good day.
