To throw something in - we had an event at EUC in 2018. It was a bit different from what you suggest - but here you can see what is possible if players want to take place a new thing. So I pasted the announcements down in this thread.
I would like to use this to say thanks to all involved people and for sure to staff who made it possible.
Your suggestion will be discussed - and at very least it will be kicking off to talk about a new event.
I would be happy if players throw in theyr suggestions and wishes here.
Thanks for the initiation.

Hello everyone,
There will be public EU_Commander event on 21st of July at 18:00 CET (17:00 British time). The details are as follows:
It will take place on EU_Commander server;
The event will be organized for everyone, public players and regiment people. Server will be open and people will join freely;
There will be no sign-ups for anything, just join and play;
Class limits will be the same as normally on EU_Commander;
People who want to join are welcomed to join the NWP discord, but it is not mandatory, you can play without it, but my advice is to join, for better experience and team coordination.
For the people who are new to the Commander battle game mode, I suggest you to read this guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f...1282355446 , made by our senior admin Ed112. If you are too lazy to read all of that, you can also go through our tips & tricks on the website: http://www.nwpublic.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1304 .
Before you join the event, please read the #?server-rules-old , because breaking any of these rules might get you removed from the event.
Now let's take a look at a background story for this event:
The year is 1796,
and the First Coalition is faltering. It´s been 4 years since La Marsaillese
was sung on the Hill of Valmy. The young general Napoleon Bonaparte has been
given his first independent command. It was a political maneuver, relegating
him to obscurity, his name being too closely attached to the recently executed
Robespierre brothers. Out of all 13 French Armies, the Armée d`Italie was by
far the worst. After Napoleon´s inevitable loss, he would be replaced and
retired in disgrace, never to be heard again. But Napoleon had other plans.(Bearbeitet)

The French
soldiers were chronically unpaid and short of everything: uniforms, shoes,
greatcoats, bayonets, ammunition etc. etc. They kept themselves alive by
plundering the French and Italian countryside. He improved reconnaissance,
increased dramatically the discipline, and formed an advanced guard of 18000
men under Massena. Against him were the Austrians under Colli. Colli´s
chief-of-staff said the “Napoleon is not known for any striking feat”. In a
fortnight Napoleon was on the move, and in 5 days he had defeated the Austrians
4 times, and in another 5 days he had defeated and capitulated the Sardinians.
After the battle of Lodi, Mantua was under siege. The first 2 relief attempts
were a failure, however at the third attempt, Napoleon received his first
undisputed defeat at Caldiero made Napoleon retreat to Verona. A temporary
division, under the command of General Kilmaine, was to feint an attack on
Alvintzy´s Advanced Guard along the old Roman Highway to make the Austrian
commander think a counter attack was incoming. Meanwhile Napoleon is marching
South-east, planning on swinging North at Ronco, cross the bridges at Arcole,
and capture the magazines at Villanova.
