Okay, so I spoke to Gretel a little bit in the discord server about why rockets were not enabled and were told they were never enabled due to them breaking the server back in the days where NW was even shitter than it is now. 

And I came up with maybe enabling rocket arty on some maps or all maps. of course, rocket arty is only on the UK but I'm sure you little coder could do something so that all Arty units could use the rockets on any faction and any map. Of course, the rocket launchers will be placed by the mappers and not being able to be moved or picked up due to some troll or fag would just fuck it up for everyone else. but I feel rocket arty would give the attackers something new rather than using the boring old mortar or cannon rockets would give it a swing. They are not to op and I don't think they would affect the balance or even give the attackers an advance because rockets are hard to aim with and are so random when they fire out. 

Of course, people will bring up the negative side of bringing rockets like they could cause mass Teamkilling or even be used to just troll. but that's an easy fix you just do the same with what you do to arty trolls right now Is by slaying them and then temp banning if they continue to troll. 

So i wanted to know if it could happen and some feedback from the actual people that care about this post.

Hi,

Once my new map has been completed, Rocket Arty will see it's first Live test. This was my intention because the map is centred around the British and would be a good fit. I like to keep as many base game features as possible accessible, so will place them like you said fixed on map and with some ammo for rockets beside it for the arty players to use. It's primitive means to do it for now but it'll work. Because you get infinite ammo on our server as a default, it should be k having a limited amount of ammo.

For balance reasons on first try these kinds of placements won't be at the back of a fort but near the front-ish, because it's quite rapid firing and relatively accurate at short range. Any issues will come out in a live test at least

I mean to solve the rapid-fire and to counter people reading it super fast you could always add a cooldown to how many times you can fire it within a minute or something or even say as u said just limit the number of rockets you can fire per round. I'm glad it's being added finally and I hope the test goes pretty well to be able to add it to the base game.

Will be a little while till map testing it - have a few issues to over come such as allowing normal arty to use rocket arty OR removing the rocket arty spawning with the arty and ammo itself via scripts.  Not too hard to do, but I want everything released at once.
Also, the map it's being added into is 60% done currently, below is a picture of it's WIP. A larger map update will be released alongside these things too, so I want to make sure everything is uploaded at once rather than piecemeal.

Sorry to hijack this thread. Gretel I would be interested in implementing rockets for the custom map 1 extended I talked about in my thread (it's about 85% done). 
   

Would I be able to add it before you test it; and if so, how would I add it to the map in order to follow the guidelines you set above (limited ammo, allowing normal arty to use it, etc.).

It's probably best we add them to another map at a later date; as the scripts Caesim are making are not 100% done for the features the Rocket Arty will have for it's ammo. We also need to make it so every factions normal arty can use the Rockets first too. So far, we have it so you cant move the piece and reload time has been increased. I'll let you know when it's ready though!
